Gift of Love Centre supports vulnerable children in Northern Uganda through daily care, health support, education, and practical opportunities for a more stable future
Day by day
Daily Care and Protection
Children at Gift of Love receive more than shelter. They receive daily care in a safe and stable environment where they can grow with dignity.
This includes regular meals, accommodation, emotional support, guidance from trusted adults, and a daily routine shaped by safety, learning, and belonging.
Health
Health and HIV support
Some children at the centre are living with HIV and need regular treatment, monitoring, and consistent care.
Gift of Love helps make sure they receive medication, nutritious food, medical support, and the stability needed to continue learning and growing.
Learning
Education and learning
Children are supported in kindergarten, school attendance, study, and tutoring so they can continue learning with confidence.
They receive school supplies, academic support, and encouragement that helps them stay on track and imagine a different future.
Early years
Kindergarten
The centre’s kindergarten began in 2013 in response to the shortage of public preschools in Uganda, where many parents work away from home and young children are often left without safe early care.
Today, the kindergarten has capacity for 100 children and is cared for by three teachers.
Future
Skills for the future
Since 2016, Gift of Love has also supported vocational workshops where young people from the centre and surrounding community can gain practical skills, work habits, and a pathway to self-reliance.
Training includes carpentry, tailoring, masonry, and, since 2023, also hairdressing and carving.
Beyond the centre
Support for the families
Gift of Love’s work also extends beyond the centre itself. Through social work, counselling, and practical support, vulnerable families can gain greater stability and stronger conditions for children at home.
Because every child deserves not only care today, but the chance to stand strong tomorrow.
